Yes, I could make that work. I did see a lot of coca leaves laid out drying like that when I was in Peru on the jungle side of Tingo Maria.

Rode along the Danube from Vienna to Budapest last year.
Liked it so much that this year we are going to ride from Passau (Germany) to Vienna. I know, it is not exactly a major challenge, but a great way to travel through Europe.

Neither of us have passports atm so its along the murray for us from Albury to Swan Hill in mid May.

My next trip overseas is in September. I'll be spending 4 weeks riding through the Pyrénées, based for 2 weeks each at 2 different cyclists' B&Bs there. There will be cols-a-plenty! Some of them I've ridden up, and others will be new for me.
If all goes according to plan, I should end up doing about 2500km over the 4 weeks, with roughly 58,000m climbing.
I'm also curious to see what the weather does while I'm over there, given that I'll be riding from Sep 7th to Oct 4th inclusive, i.e. early Autumn.

so ummm.... long time no visit or post, but i guess this is as good a place as any - i'm off on august 2 to ride the pamir highway from tajikistan into kyrgyzstan. nervous excitement and a general sense of "what the hell am i doing?" are rising by the day!

it's been a bucket list tour for quite some time, and it was between a trip like this or a shiny new road bike for my 40th. i'd always had a baum corretto in mind, but then when i saw that the mad raw-onion-eating monk was riding one of those, i had to reassess my life choices.

Has anyone ridden a bike along the east coast of Italy from say Pescara right along the coast northwards to as far as Croatia?
