A cyclist was killed after colliding with a car on the Great Ocean Road on Sunday.

Roads were closed between Lorne and Skenes Creek after a 57-year-old man, believed to be from Torquay, crashed into a car near Cape Patton, police say.

Lorne acting sergeant Michael Atkinson said the man had been riding with a group from Apollo Bay to Lorne when it’s believed he strayed onto the wrong side of the road.
