Cyclist killed in Shoreham collision

Monday, 3 August 2020 13:15
Police are investigating after a serious collision in Shoreham this morning.

Emergency services were called to Frankston-Flinders Road about 10.10am to reports a car and bicycle had collided.

The female cyclist died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a 61-year-old Mont Albert woman, is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has dash cam footage or any other information that could assist police with their enquiries is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

Very sad.
You wonder how it happens with roads so quiet at this time.

You also wonder why someone from Mont Albert was so far away from home with this lockdown.

Very sad indeed. Reminds me of the case near Ballarat I think where the driver had been texting and the roads were almost deserted. I do hope that the police ask the questions and don't stuff it up like they messed the car dooring case in Glenferrie Road Hawthorn.

I have not been keeping tabs but it seems to me that many more females on bikes are being injured these days.

I hope she gets a $1,652 fine.

She may not be entirely at fault for the collision.
