Call for action tomorrow for safe cycling routes in Glen Eira

This is a call out for anyone to join us for a ‘thumbs up’ campaign on the corner of Hawthorn and Glen Eira Roads, Caulfield – in front of the Town Hall. 8am to 9am.
Glen Eira Council has proposed a safe cycling corridor to link the Djerring Trail with the future St Kilda Road bikes lanes. There is a group ‘Save Inkerman’ who are vehemently opposed to a possible route that may go down Inkerman Road - undecided yet…could be Alma, could be Dandenong Road (very unlikely). We want to show the councillors who will be voting on this next week that creating safe cycling paths must be an important part of Council’s transport strategy. We also want to get the public on board and show the noisy ‘Save Inkerman’ group that there are many more of us who want cycling to be a safer form of transport.
If you can, join us (on bike if possible), bring friends, wear bright cycling gear. We would love to see lots of cyclists! And a smile!
