Cyclist killed in Bendigo

A male cyclist has been killed after a collision with a truck in Bendigo.

Police believe the truck was driving down Woodward Road in Golden Gully, a suburb in Bendigo's south, when it collided with the cyclist about 12.10pm on Friday.

Emergency services were called, however the man died at the scene.

Police remain at the scene of the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Woodward Road and Hattam Street, and expect to stay there for several hours.

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are also on their way

"The truck was driving" - why does every vehicle that kills a cyclist or pedestrian seem to drive itself

Because the vehicle can't sue for defamation?

Apparently the truck wasn't driving itself, the driver has been charged.

Alleged drug use prior and dismissal from two previous truck driving jobs due to that, how does someone like that keep their licence and get a new truck driving job?
