Thank you for your interest in attending the Box Hill to Ringwood shared
use path forums. We have received considerable interest from the community
to participate in these discussions.
We have rescheduled the Blackburn Section forum to Wednesday 13 July at 7pm
at the Whitehorse Centre, Willis Room, 379-397 Whitehorse Road, Nunawading.
This forum will provide an opportunity for the community to understand the
rationale for our decision to build the path on the south side of the
railway in Blackburn.
We have rescheduled the Laburnum Section forum to Tuesday 19 July at 7pm at
the Box Hill Town Hall, Lower Hall, 1022 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill.
This forum will provide the local community an opportunity to contribute to
the detailed design for the Laburnum section from Middleborough Road to
Blackburn station on the south side of the railway. We are seeking input
from you on the southern alignment options and path treatments available
for this section.
Please RSVP your attendance to either forum by email to
eastern_projects@roads.vic.gov.au or call the project team (03) 9872 7058
by Friday 8 July.

Project update – May 2017
In December 2016 we proposed an on-road design option for the Ringwood section of the pedestrian and cycle path, which involved converting Albert Street to a one-way street and removing the parking.
Following the community’s feedback, we looked into other available options and have since revised the final alignment of the path along this section of road.
Thanks to the Heatherdale Level Crossing Removal Project, the rail sign infrastructure has been removed, meaning we can construct an off-road path and keep most of the mature trees which wasn’t previously possible.
We’re now inviting you to have your say on the proposed design via our online survey (External link). The survey will be open until 5pm on Wednesday 24 May 2017.
You can read a full update of each section at the bottom of this page.
Along with the removal of the Heatherdale Road level crossing, Blackburn Road level crossing has also been removed. The construction teams have been working hard to complete associated project works, including the portions of the Box Hill to Ringwood shared use path in the Blackburn and Heatherdale Sections. These sections will be open to the public by the end of Jun 2017 which will provide more than four kilometres of new path connections for the community to use.
We are also expecting to engage contractors and commence constructing the Box Hill and Nunawading Sections in the coming months. Local businesses and residents will be provided with updates on the construction in due course.
The design for the final section of the path in the Laburnum area it is still under review with Whitehorse Council.
All of this information and more, can be found on the Box Hill to Ringwood shared use path web page. As always, please get in touch with us to discuss any aspect of the project on 9872 7000 or eastern_projects@roads.vic.gov.au.
