Apparently Monday could be quite similar; thunderstorms and heavy rainfall predicted.

Been using this website for the air quality. All good presently, of course, but has been useful the last couple of weeks.

The forecast was amended today (at 12:53 pm), which is highly unusual, and was obviously done because the 5:05 am forecast was wrong.
Ya know, I'm gunna count how many times it's amended this year, outside the standard 4:20 pm and 5:05 am edition,

Can we attribute blame and deny agency at the same time?

Today's forecast was updated at 10:02am EDT. The BOM are On A Roll.

I didn't notice any updates yesterday between 5:05am and 4:20pm. Not sure if they had any late night updates since I didn't catch the forecast until after 5:05am this morning. It was either Brisbane or Canberra, or both, who had updates yesterday (checking to see if the cricket will be affected).

Yes, it's total mayhem with all the unscheduled forecast updates. What's going on?!

In "bigger news", to state the obvious, Melbourne had a cooler-than-average January, with a mean maximum of 25.2 degrees; the overall mean maximum before they moved the Melbourne station to Olympic Park a few years ago was 26.

However, the overnight low average was higher than the ~155-year mean: 15.4; the overall ave is 14.3.

We had 5 days reach 30 or above (plus another day getting to 29.9); the overall average is 7.8 days.
We had 3 days reach 35 or above; the overall average is 3.6 days.
We didn't have a day that reached 40; the average is 0.7 days (or seven 40-degree days every 10 years, on average)

Tell all ya friends

Forget the updates. Tomorrow's forecast sounds like I'm in for a wet and possibly wild ride....
