See posts made since your last visit
Registered forum users will notice that topics with unread posts are highlighted. In many cases though, you may not want to read all the unread messages. To catch up on just the posts made since your last visit, select
View posts since last visit from the top-right corner of the
Forums Index page.
Jump to the new posts
Selecting the title of a topic takes you to the first post in the topic. When a topic has new posts to read, there will be a small orange page icon

in the title. Selecting the icon will take you to the first new post in that topic, saving you having to scroll down.
<strong>Add an image to your post</strong>
Images that already exist on the web can be easily added to your post. To add the image you need to know the web address (URL) of the image.
Visit the webpage containing the image. If you are using Internet Explorer, right-click on the image and select <em>properties</em>.
<img src="http://www.stumbles.id.au/junk/image-rightclick.png">
Then copy the address by highlighting it and selecting <em>copy</em> from the right-click menu (other browsers may vary somewhat).
<img src="http://www.stumbles.id.au/junk/image-properties.png">
Add the image to your post by pasting the web address you just copied between start <strong></strong> image markers, like so:
<em>

</em>
producing something like:
<img src="http://www.bv.com.au/image/home_pic_3.jpg">
Regular HTML code may also be used.
Edit your own posts
Made a mistake in your post? Editing posts allows you to go back and fix errors, remove incorrect information, or add new information to your posts. To edit a post, look at the top right corner of your post and click Edit <img src="http://www.bv.com.au/forums/templates/bv/images/lang_english/icon_edit.gif">.
If you edit a post after it has been replied to, a small message will appear at the bottom of it indicating how many times it has been edited, and when and by whom the last edit occurred.
To delete a post, click Edit and check Delete this Post. Click Submit to finish deleting the post. You may not delete a post if it has been replied to (i.e. it is not the last post in the topic).
Private messages
Private messages (PMs) are there for the following reasons: to be able to contact a fellow member of a forum with privacy, eg to pass on a mobile number that they dont want just any member to see, to organise a ride between a certain group of people rather than an open invitation, but most importantly, to talk to a fellow member about a subject that wil be totally irrelevant to other members, that would otherwise clog up the forum.
I, along with many members that are here i am sure, am a member of a few other forums, and i have found that pm's are a valuable tool. In time when this forum is larger, they will be become more and more helpful
I hope this has helped
To use pm's, you can either hit the PM button

at the bottom of a persons reply to a topic, or in memberlist, you can also hit the PM button there. type your message in, and its as easy as that
