I wish to complain.

Today when I left home it was 10.6degs. That is unheard of. I had to find my tights. I may get to wear them once or twice a year.

My Complaint is that "YOU MELBOURIANS" have sent your South Westerly winds to me.
Now I was a MELBOURIAN for over 60 years, BUT we moved to Qld for the warmth amongst other things,
SO can you PLEASE keep your South Westerly wind to yourself.

End of Complaint. :D :D :D :D

Don't let the photo fool you, it was still cool.

It started at 10.6deg and finished at 20degs. I was a tad warm with my tights on, at the end of my ride.

After a few weeks of almost no riding I summoned up the courage to go for a quick spin around the Otways. It was a shock to the system to be exercising the legs again but I soon found my rhythm, although the tempo was more larghissimo than allegro. I took the mountain bike to ride some trails I had seen on the trike preciously but was not sufficiently confident with my off-road trike skills to try them. It was mostly gravel roads and fire trails, with some sweet single track to bring me back to the coast.

Complaint noted Frosty, filed in the "RACV folder" (ex-Pat Melbournians who complain about Qld weather that feels like Melbourne but they're on the Gold Coast, where Melbournians go to get away from Melbourne's weather.... :? )

My morning ride today - didn't climb above 14 degrees and I was very comfortable in tights thankyou. No photo offered so I don't break the forum....

Highlight of the ride: 42 km from home (Briar Hill) Eltham - Diamond Creek, Wattle Glen Hurstbridge & return: On the Diamond Creek outward leg: one of the Eltham primary schools out for an organised walk, easily a thousand kids from preps through to year 6, teachers and volunteer (??) parents keeping them in class groups and somewhat to the left of the path. Lots of "Hi's" and friendly chat from the kids, in amongst calls from teachers to "keep left, keep left" to this semi-controllable horde! Great to see.

Cheers

This photo may brighten up your day.
Yesterday, while I rode, the Broadwater was a mill pond until the breeze slowly picked up.

Nice.
Back to working from home and it was quite damp for the "pre-work" ride.
At least the traffic dropped off from earlier in the week.

Well, what was that reason, that we moved from Mordy to Labrador, Qld.
That's it... To watch the grandkids grow up.......
It wouldn't have been for the sh!t weather up here..

Today's sh!t weather, what I have to put up with, while out riding.

The weather is the least of our worries at the moment, here in Melbourne. Not too bad for riding, even if it is a little chilly. Just not being allowed to move around much is the real problem.

Was feeling motivated, despite the cold to get my 2 hours exercise, at 6am today. 0.8 on our home weather station.
Was flying down Doncaster rd in North Balwyn and came around the corner and hit a shoddy bit of road repair, and pinch flat.
Now let me tell you changing a tyre at 1C is quite painful!

2/2.
Was riding down a local bike trail this morning and managed to impale a stick through my tyre and tube, which were both completely borked, necessitating a walk home. Fortunately I was on a loop and only 20 minutes from home.
Lets hope I won't have a 3rd misfortune tomorrow ;)

A magic morning.

Cloudy but the Broadwater was glassy... no wind.

No riding for me, for another 5 weeks.... Right arm in a sling after an operation last week (day before lockdown...) to repair a torn shoulder tendon - a basketball injury. I guess this means missing the depths of Melbourne's winter.....and constructing 10 km radius rides in week 2 of the lockdown. ;)

Cheers
