All the best, Tom.

I know what it is like to have a medical episode. It brings home how much we love riding when you aren't allow to or can't do it.
Hope that you are back on your bike very soon.

Frosty.

+1 Having had more than one such episode. As you do.

A friend had a detached retina which stopped him riding briefly. He recovered, got special glasses etc. Resumed cycling. Bought a Merc SLX AMG 6.3 or whatever. Immediately suffered another detached retina. Now he is enjoying cycling and the Merc. :D :D :D

You can recover. ;) :o 8-) :!:
Stay fixed. Keeping a cool head.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. Eye is recovering nicely but I've no binocular vision at present, so won't be riding on busy roads or bike paths or undertaking any long rides. I've had a short ride round local back streets to see what it's like riding with one eye. OK as long as I take it easy. I hope to extend that a bit over the weekend if it's not too wet, but nothing too serious. Have to be patient. Tom

Dale,
That is not good news.
I hope that you get better quickly, but it is not sounding real flash.
All the best.

As you have noticed I haven't been riding much since September last year. Due to health issues and recently selling the house issue.
Well, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. :)
Settlement day is Fri 21st Apr and we plan to reach the Gold Coast on Wed 26th Apr. Live in our fiver for a few months then rent 'something' for 6 months plus, until our apartment is finished (expected date is Feb 2018)
Once we set up camp at Broadwater Tourist Park, all the pressure is off and I can ride daily down to Burleigh Heads , the Spit and Lands End. I can't wait.
I will start off doing smaller rides to build up a bit of fitness and start to lose the weight that I have put on.

Frosty.

This time next month, I should be set up in our 5th Wheeler for x number of months and will be watching our apartment being built.
I must admit that I will be really pissed off, if I aren't back to riding regularly.
We will have to wait and see.
I have heaps of things to do before this time next month. One thing is just move 40 years of 'crap' to the Gold Coast. Nothing really. :D

^ thanks again Frosty, I've even given up the exercise walking temporarily. Been suffering "graft vs host disease" in my lungs & blood stream all month as well as developed deep vein thrombosis in the leg again, which means my maximum walking distance is currently 70-ish (yes, seventy) metres.
