Cycling Journal - (incl My Cycling Log details)

Postby caesar » Tue 30 Sep 2008, 12:22 pm

I’ve been looking into keeping track of all the cycling/running I do. Is there some sort of online tracking/exercise journal website or is it just easier to buy a diary and enter all the k’s in the calendar?

This thread refers to a number of methods which forumites use to maintain statistics about how much riding they're doing. The most popular method is through the website My Cycling Log (http://www.mycyclinglog.com/).

BV Forum Riders
Forum members are welcome to join the group "BV Forum Riders" on the site to see how their stats stack up against other forumites. To join, either
1) Search for "BV Forum Riders" on the MCL website and request to join. Most requests are responded to within a day or two
OR
2) PM Snuffy and request for access.

To qualify to join, all you need to do is be a forum member. We don't really care if you do 100km a year or 100,000km.

The signature app
Lock has created a nifty little app which allows you to display your MCL statistics in your forum sig. Details in the thread on how to use it.

The impending British invasion
From early in 2010, the BV Forum Riders hit the top of the MCL leader board, which of course made us a target. The friendly folks at CycleChat.co.uk are rallying troops for an assault against our lofty position. Let's not let those poms beat us down!

The following red bit was added by Frosty (1:45pm Thursday 10th January 2013.

For those that don't want to update their ride data often, for whatever reasons.

Why don't you enter your data monthly. Hopefully, you can find time to enter 12 amounts.

Please don't take this comment as offensive, just as a friendly suggestion.

I just use an excel spreadsheet, but there are certainly sites out there... I think Calorie King do something like that, mapmyride lets you do it too... I haven't used either of these, so don't know how handy they are, but they're places for you to start...

Check out this one:

http://www.mycyclinglog.com/

I log all my rides here. If you plug in all your stats, it'll draw up nice reports and bar charts for you to admire.

Some of my friends and I have formed our own little "team". This way we can have group stats and a leaderboard to see who is slacking off!

Hey. I was just thinking that! But I was worried that I would just embarrass myself by trying to compare myself to other BV riders...

If we had a BV team, I reckon we would rocket to the top of the teams ranking in no time.
