I agree Helen, although I think getting exclusive access to such a route as problematic. To do otherwise would possibly lead to widespread condemnation of BN for "taking over the rail trail", blah blah blah. Plus you'd likely get the blow-ins who couldn't be bothered paying yet possibly wreaking havoc among such a bunch.
If there was some way to do it, I reckon that would be a winner.
On second thoughts, Ride the Night is mainly on paths? Although at that time of day (night) the number of non-RTN participants would be far lower than daylight hours.
