Tell me about it. ;)

It is one of the reasons that commercial gyms are so circumspect about allowing Tom, Dick and Harriet to do their own thing. Even the elites under careful supervision in a graded programme sometimes come unstuck. The balance between pushing the envelope and tearing it is a fine one.

Yeah, but my need is so much greater than it is for Buchanan or Meares hehe.

Valda Unthank, the Paralysing Pedaller? I hadn't heard of her. Interesting snippet at Merlin, along with some men's extreme riding from history:
In 1938 the fabulously named Valda Unthank set three records during one bike ride: the Launceston to Burnie (and back). Valda not only set the record for the Launceston to Burnie return but she also set the Australain 200 mile record AND the Australian 12 hour record.

Another really interesting profile of Lael Wilcox. So unpretentious. http://www.bikemag.com/features/profile ... kuG7t2k.97

Just watched my recorded Giro Rosa stage. Effing hard steep climb to end it. One more day.
