Not surprised.

No ATB and no GVBR will make a very large hole in BV's bottom line for 2020-2021

I don't know about the ATB, but BV has published figures for the GVBR in recent years and they don't make a lot of money on it.
If the number of participants are below I think 3,000, it actually makes a loss.

I've booked for this year. I should be fully vaccinated by then, I've booked my 2nd shot for mid September.
But I'm not sure if it could still go ahead, one condition must be that all riders are fully vaccinated.

Interesting they should require all riders to be vaccinated and still promote the event to school groups this year  . I imagine it will be dominated by the over 60s if it does go ahead. It is a beautiful region for riding. The Mt Victory Road is one of my favourite rides in that area, although I would prefer to be descending it solo.

ATB is only 6 weeks away and no sign of the lockdown ending anytime soon - the numbers are heading in completely the wrong direction.

Cancelled, again.
Well sort of. Changed to a "Little Vic",4 days in the Grampians in March. Capped at 3,000. Participants over 12 have to be fully vaccinated.

Not surprising, given the rapidly escalating COVID case numbers and deaths, hospitals struggling to cope, and all in a supposed "lockdown". I doubt the mini-version will disappoint if they do manage to finally make it happen. Most Melburnians would be thrilled just to breathe some country air for once.
