Random lurker here. The route link in the first post has just gone dead. I know it worked on the weekend. :(

Hi there LovesTha. I don’t know why the original route link doesn’t work anymore, but that’s probably a good thing because the route has now changed. The finish moved from Ringwood to Mitcham some months ago.

There is a now a standard route and a long route, plus occasional combinations of them. Riders can choose either, depending on the weather and how they are feeling. As before, start time is 7am Saturday morning, there are multiple re-group points along the way, and a café stop at the finish.

New Standard Route

New Long Route

Definitely still way below par on my fitness level. However as a nod to international talk like a pirate day, I'm now planning to join the RRR route at Mountain Hwy on my ride over and the rest of you catch up to me on the course.

Did better on the ride than I thought I would. Still nowhere near the fitness level I'd like, but hopefully that will come in the next month or two. Managed to do the RRR route from the end of Stud Rd. through to Mitcham. Got to Mitcham a bit earlier than I thought I would, so took advantage of the extra time to get an extra coffee :D . All up just under 95km for the day. A good ride with a chilly start and a warm end. Only one swooping attack in Dandenong, although I may have been spared a few due to the Eastlink path being very busy today.

Left home at stupid o'clock from out Norf to head East and do the actual RRR - not just a cruise over for brekky. Was unfortunately running late, so turned at Mitcham Road to try to catch up to the bunch at one of the stops. Arrived at Wantirna Rd re-group point at 7:15, no one there, and I figured the bunch would be well gone, and I'd have no hope of catching them. So did a solo RRR until Dorset/Mt Hwy, and turned left to head to Ringwood to meet up for brekky.

Only to find out the group had taken the long option at the start, and were behind me!!!! %#*@#!!!

But the company at brekky was lovely, great to see an awesome looking N+1
I'm not bossy, I just have better ideas!

Thanks all for the ride this morning.
Great to see John rekindling his love of the bike.

I'm sorry I was so off the pace, but I was actually trying really hard. I am putting in the kms at the moment, but don't seem to be getting any faster. I'm thinking I have replaced unfit legs with tired legs and the overall effect is the same.

I'll just keep plodding on, but thanks for your patience anyway.

Note: As the forecast for Saturday is quite nice, I'm thinking of an earlier start (6:00am) ride down to Mornington & back. Depends on interest, and continuing good forecasts...

What route are you thinking of taking to Mornington? I may try and meet up. Not too interested in the early start myself, as the normal start has me up at stupid o'clock, and I'm already halfway to Mornington.
