Warragul bike rides.

Postby kramer10 » Thu 05 May 2016, 7:21 pm

Hi just wondering where the majority of bike riders in Warragul that end up at Frankies on a Sunday morning are riding. I am interested in a longer ride say 60 km or so at a medium pace. And just wondering what most riders are doing on a Sunday morning in the Warragul area. Thanks in advance Robert.

I found this on the Warragul Cycling Club website under recreation. It lists five Sunday rides at various speeds/distances around Warragul all ending at one of Warragul's coffee shops which could be Frankies.

Wot he said

Former colleague of mine lives out that way and his Strava feed tells me that the club rides are where it's at.

Kramer - Saturday has the Team DSR ride which departs the Darnum Black Stump Tearooms at 8am - does a 50-70Km loop - dependent on the day and returns for coffee.

Sundays, you can do the 7am warm-up ride - 30Km @ pace 30-35Kph average, then the 0800 fast ride (45Km @ 35-38Kph) or 0815 medium-paced ride (40Km @ 32-35Kph), which gives you ~70Km. Rides depart front of Bicycle Centre in Queen St, Warragul

Yep, get onto the club website - there are some descriptions of the rides, but it is a bit dated nowadays.

Rides leave out the front of Bicycle Centre in Queen St, Warragul, Tues - through Friday at 0600 - with varying loops. On Tues and Thurs a slow-medium paced ride leaves there at 0630.

If on Facebook, look up Baw Baw Cyclists and Warragul Cycling Club pages.

There is HEAPS of riding going in around Warragul, so get amongst it.
