How far can you ride in 60 mins?

First one is this weekend

Have entered the Northcote ride with the good lady wife.
Altona is closer but I've done that plenty of times.

Meant I finally signed up as a BN member again, can't enter unless you're a member. Been meaning to do it, so good motivation.

And this might be the introduction to organised rides she needs. Or not.

Looking forward to a gentle pootle around.

Just jumping into some detail on this:
Can I assume the route should be under an hour to complete accounting for a moderate pace, say up to 20kms/hr?
Route is best to be uniform throughout, sealed where possible with no techie bits?
Avoiding major roads, or road crossings, perhaps capitalizing on linked shared paths?
A start/finish point in a park or off/road location with water fill up & dunnys?
Just a bike & a place to ride.

I did the first one in Northcote.
We did 4 x 15 min laps of the course.
Road crossings were necessary, but not a problem.
Water, bring your own. Dunnies? Whatever public toilets are around. This is a free event after all.
Start point was at the end of an industrial street, quiet and parking aplenty.
A very pleasant way to explore the area, which I wouldn't have otherwise ridden.
The concept is quite good, and I'm keen to explore new areas, such as the Ringwood ride.
