2015 Lunch in Warby Saturday 4th April 2015

Postby GreenAlias » Thu 26 Feb 2015, 8:15 am

For the last 5 years we have had a Lilydale to Warburton & return “Lunch in Warby” ride along the rail trail on the Easter Saturday which were popular, well attended and much enjoyed by all – so I propose that we do it all again this year. This year (2015) Easter Saturday is 4th April. This is a scenic social ride conducted at a leisurely pace suitable for family groups & senior citizens. Anyone who wants to step up the pace after lunch and go ahead of the bunch on the return journey is very welcome to do so.

For those who haven’t been before and would like to know more, there is heaps of information and lotsa photos in the old threads. Most information about distances, grades, track surfaces, suitable bikes & tyres is there, but if you can’t find what you want I’m also happy to answer questions and/or provide further information.

If you're interested in attending this year please post in this thread so we can gain an estimate of likely numbers.

We may be away but if we come back in time we will join you, with small people on small bicycles as well!

Probably parking at the Rail Carriage cafe at Seville :)
Still a cyclist, albeit one who never rides any more....

Hi Atom & Squeaza, thanks for your response. For a time there I was thinking I'd be doing this ride by myself

However, we shouldn't be too concerned - our experience from previous years is that a majority of people don't make a firm decision until the last couple of days before the ride.

I'm hoping to make it on this ride but won't know for certain if I can make it until a few days before.

It is a most enjoyable event but regrettably it looks as if I shall not be there this time.
Stay fixed. Keeping a cool head.

Ok, weather pending we'll come along for some of it, possibly with a few more squeazaclan in tow!

A few people have spoken to me personally and combined with those who have posted here, we have sufficient starters - providing the weather doesn't turn bad. At this moment the forecast is not good, so we'll delay making a final go/no go decision until either Friday night and/or early Saturday morning.

Could anyone thinking of going please send me your mobile number so that I can broadcast an SMS Text message with a decision. Thanks.
