What about the 80 year old who is able to cycle and remain fit by using an e-bike, when he would be unable to ride a regular bike?
What about the person who is just starting out, and can only cycle 3km at a time, but with an e-bike is able to cycle much farther and for longer?
What about the person who can maintain a decent speed on the flat but struggles massively with hills?

Basically, what about the person for whom cycling is transport more than recreation, for whom the fitness benefits are not their primary goal?

After the Herald Sun guff on the the (unfounded) dangers of the event, is there any risk that the event will be cancelled???

Oh the irony of it being ok for police resources to be stretched thin by the thousands and thousands of people who go into the city every weekend at night to drink and party and take drugs, but god help us that 2000 people decide to RIDE BIKES.....

The comments on the news articles are crazy. Do people think that everyone on the ride is going to be plastered, just because that's what apparently everyone has to do after midnight on a Saturday night? :?
Still a cyclist, albeit one who never rides any more....

^Methinks that those commenting on the "news" article, should stop judging others by their own low self-expectations.
