Yea.... was pretty good
I was carless, so ended up riding to-from Lilydale.
Conditions were perfect. Stupidly cold on the Warby Trail in the early morning, but once I got a bit of elevation on the Don Road ascent, the sun warmed me up pretty quickly. Smatterings of snow at around 800m, with crusty ice at around 950m and lots of snow above 1000m. Valves froze, so I wasn't able to pressure down my tyres, but generally didn't have any traction issues. 26x4.0" tyres at 20psi seemed to sit nicely on top of the powder.
I had a plan to ride from Mt Donna summit to the Mt Victoria Summit, but the trail over to Mt Victoria was a bit indistinct under the snow and I didn't like the idea of getting lost in bush. Instead, I rode down the trail to the 10 mile carpark - was an absolute hoot sliding down this trail on fat tyres.
