Having just returned from the BBC Ride along the Yarra Boulevard earlier today 30/4/11 @ 10.30, be aware folks that there is a significant amount of glass on the road, at the turn around point at the FWY end, near the 'car park' by the electric tower!

Careful doing that around the bushes near the freeway overpass. You might get more than you bargained for!

It seems some of the action must have moved to the toilets, cos there's a notice at the women's that they're closing the men's loos due to complaints about the 'activity' there, and converting ours to unisex. :x Wish they'd kept it to themselves rather than stuff ours as well. Will mean heading over to the velodrome toilets.

In other news, some excitement last night - two cop cars with lights blazing; naked bloke apprehended near the school. He was face down on the footpath but later sitting on the tailgate of one of the cars. :?

What time? I'm riding laps on my way home most nights and missed the action...

About 7.40-8.10 I think; they were there for a couple of laps. Bit odd being completely starkers just there - southern gate of the school - I thought.

Definitely a bloke roshea.

I'd turned off and headed for home around 7:30pm, so explains why I missed the show...

Given the moss we're getting along the freeway wall down the south end, do any of the long-term riders know if it gets slippery? Haven't had any probs yet but just wondered if we will, given this weather.

Rode along there today weg and while it is a lovely shade of green in places, many wheels are wearing a path through the middle of it. Moss is usually a concern on corners not on flat stretches such as along there.

A heads up for those using the Richmond section of the Yarra Boulevard. Tram works in Power and Swan Sts between 30/6 and 6/7 have caused a detour which means traffic is being funnelled onto the boulevard from Swan st to Bridge Road. If you go early it's ok but after say 10am on the weekend it banks right up. Also you may encounter more than the average number of speeding cars as they race along the eastbound section of the Boulevard to Twickenham Crescent and Grange Road.

Thanks for that - and the moss update(didn't see it earlier). Will make other plans.
