Sigh. I thought on Monday that they had ground to a complete halt but happily came the resurrection.

I too have tried to kick threads along a little but it seems that there is very little to interest the current audience. A level crossing here, a left hook there.

A totally new bike path/route under the Pakenham line skyrail and no one seems to comment or even be interested.

I think that for some people, the forums may have fulfilled some kind of social and maybe Psychological need and now they have been cured. ;)

I still live in hope of the new Andrews government doing something about minimum passing clearance laws. Amy Gillett foundation continue to plug away at that.
Stay fixed. Keeping a cool head.

On a different tangent: I note now that random guests listed are often in the 40-60 number range, whereas in the past it was much lower. Not sure what this is about...

Most users ever online was 179 on Fri 02 Nov 2018, 2:29 pm

What happened then to cause an upsurge of interest?

Frankly, it's not exactly an interesting topic. Perhaps start a new thread with a raving mad interesting topic?

Thanks Matt for your info.
I think it is quite obvious this forum is on its last legs but until BN pull the plug a few of us will keep posting.

4.4 posts a day =
Claude Cat
Canuck
JVB
Matt1

etc

As Frosty wrote: not much interest in the forums.
BV are not unique, lots of cycling forums are complaining of reduced activity but none are as bad as BV!

It used to be fun. A lot of activity, banter, arguments and even group rides. Not to mention tips and advice on repairs, purchases, etc.
I'm not sure where people go now. Maybe Facebook groups, although I haven't found one like this.
And not being smartphone compatible doesn't help. I spend most days on my PC, so still frequent forums on the big screen(s).

+1 for the big screen.

I can just manage to type on our tablet but as for typing on a phone, forget it!

Yes, it was a fun forum. I have found myself reading through some of the old threads for amusement and wondering how many of the former regulars are still riding. Many of the other bulletin board forums have dropped right off, I think the USENET groups have closed completely. I blame the menace of anti-social media, which I no longer frequent thank goodness.

Yes, still riding, mostly on the Yarra trails with the kids these days. Need to update my avatar!
