Meat & 3 Veg

Postby PiledHigher » Sat 25 Oct 2008, 8:46 pm

What's cooking? If we can have a drunk posting thread, maybe a cooking thread?

So tonight after a market visit:

T-bone steak with green peppercorn gravy (and mustard and homemade horsradish)
Mixed roast potatoes (kipfler, purple sweet and nicola) small diced with rosemary and garlic.
Green beans, bok choy, onions, essentially stir fried with small amounts of butter, oil, lemon and sesame seeds.

Wheat beers and marsanne (given the warm weather a big red seemed wasted)

Scotch fillet steak, asparagus, broad beans and kipfler potatoes. The veg basically just boiled/steamed and served with butter and a sprinkling of salt.

Mustard on the side for the steak.

No alcohol, because I'm studying.

I had corned beef and roasted potato and pumpkin, as well as broccoli that one of my neighbours grew. When I wanted seconds of the roasted pumpkin (like I always do), I had to raid my not-hungry-sister's plate ...
Guess that's what happens when cooking for 6 turns into cooking for 9 - including a home delivery for my school friend + partner + brother :D

I'm now hungry again - so will probably go looking for some milo later :P
The orange juice I had at my friend's place was certainly welcome as well

Penny
Put it in the small ring and spin!

Currently eating food that is available at the First Class Qantas lounge in Singapore. My flight is delayed some 5 hours or so...

Have been having a lot of fresh fruit, just finished off two samosa's and washing it down with a Tiger beer.

looking forward to getting home...

BBQ included lamb staps (marinated in a mix of apricots, ginger + garlic), a nice slab of salmon BBQed in foil, potato salad and some fresh tomatoes + greens.
Little creatures pale ale while cooking, Yalumba Pinot Grigio with dinner and the remains of a Brands Cab Sauv now . . .
:D :D
