Pulled pork, tortilla wraps, toppings the Boy chose: corn cut off the cob, lettuce, tomato, avocado, capsicum, sour cream. Some coriander and assorted hot sauces for the adults.

Roast beef, potatoes and sweet potatoes, peas and mint sauce, gravy and first go at Yorkshire puddings (mostly worked and well received).

Not as healthy as Canuck's but great on a cold winter night:

Butter Chicken (unlike a certain Werribee person who gained some media attention travelling a long distance for his butter chicken Handi Indian Restuarant on the corner of Canterbury Rd and Boronia Rd is just over 1km from us.)

Aloo Gobi

Veggie Korma

Large rice

1 naan.

Does a big meal for Mary and I with enough left over to microwave the next night.

Nearly ready....

Beef stirfry with a Korean-ish marinade, broccoli, carrot, zucchini. Brown rice. The beef is from the whole eye fillet I bought in lockdown delivery, part of the portions I cut out of it.

Glass of red.

Chocolate ice cream.

Our house tonight, complete with re-enacting the trudging and chanting (we showed the Boy the movie clip )

Made even sweeter by the lockdown allegory...

Cabbage. Cooked into a sauteed bacon, onion, garlic, spices...
Steamed carrots.
Twice cooked kipfler potatoes, garlic, parsley.
Roasted little chook. I tied it up with some quality bacon layered on top, stuffed it with lemon off the tree, bay leaves, parsley, many garlic cloves. Yum crispy finish.

Dear Deity.... it's been an effing long day....

Comfort food tonight - beef lasagne with mozza and ricotta from our local cheese factory - fresh basil on top - last of its lot. Green salad with corn off the cob, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion.

Dessert: I think just plain old chocolate of the bar, and some red wine. Haven't had a chance to bake yet this week, and really missing it...

Visiting Japan tonight.
Yakitori chicken skewers, beef gyōza, miso soup with tofu, soba noodles, steamed broccoli, zucchini, carrots.

Some baked goods made via Boy's interest this afternoon: toffee bars with chocolate on top. Really, it's just a giant choc chip cookie in a tray, with the chocolate melted on top

Very trad type stuff for tonight - some in the oven now.
Lamb shanks in stout, slow cooked (other stuff in there, of course).
Mash + the sauce to come once cooked and reduced. Roasted carrots. Peas. Green salad with some tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella.

Possibly make some sort of Gruffalo crumble for dessert with ice cream.

Have wood smoked (hot smoked) salmon to eat up.

Cooked up some angel hair pasta with a sauce of olive oil, garlic, parsley, dill, verjuice, sour cream, lemon zest. Added in some asparagus, spring onion and spinach.

Topped with parmesan, pepper and crumbled on the salmon.

Side salad greens, tomatoes, capsicum, cucumber.

Lightest wine in the house was a pinot noir - made do...

Green spaghetti.
Basically an olive oil, garlic, leek, veg stock, touch of cream n pasta water type recipe filled in with green veg and sometimes parmesan, mixed through a noodle pasta.
Tonight was with the above plus a shredded zucchini from the garden, a few cups of packed spinach leaves, peas, and herbs.

Didn't ride like I meant to this morning, but getting some done in the kitchen and laundry...

Prep for the work week: Made guacamole for a fast nacho side to soup at lunch. Veggie full version of pork/veal bolognaise sauce for tonight and freezer. Chickpea tikka masala for later in the week. A sort of mushroom cream sauce I make for topping chicken mushroom arancini for later in the week. One night will be fish and soba and greens, minimal prep and easy child lunchbox leftovers...

Should be baking muffins for the lunchbox, too. Blueberry.
