I've been using it recently, would be great to have a timeline on what they doing with it.

Will do some more online investigation and might even have a chat to our local member - he has habit of leaving his large promotional sign out the front of my house. If he'd like my votes be good to do a deal with him.

Beat you to it :P

The last I heard, VicRoads advertised for tenders a few months ago. The state government will also need to either compulsorily acquire the land from Boroondara Council or negotiate with us to transfer the land before the bridge can be built. I'm not aware of any specific timelines, but there is a community reference group who might have more information.

No worries :) And good to see at least one other cyclist in an area where cycling levels are at such tiny levels... http://profile.id.com.au/boroondara/tra ... ?WebID=120

Great news had seen this construction on an afternoon run recently.

Where would they look to make the connection to the MYT? Down View St & across the river??

Good to see the progress but there is quite some way to go yet before completion.
Stay fixed. Keeping a cool head.

The work on the current section up to the La Trobe golf course is nearly done. There is just one final section of about 20m of concrete to lay, then a bit of a general clean up and some landscaping. Presumably there will be a politician to open it, so it may stay closed for some time until that can be organised. You can easily walk it if you want, including crossing the two and a half bridges they have built.

The real issue is when will they finish the final links, along the back of the La Trobe golf course and across the Yarra River to link with the existing paths. At the moment the path is a dead end, finishing literally in mid air with a half completed bridge at the point it meets the La Trobe golf course.
So the track is not good for anything (except a sight seeing trip of a couple of hundred metres, turn around and go back).

Imagine the benefits of this final link, it is so close but based on efforts to date we could be years away from completion. We have been waiting a generation for this link, we need to keep up the pressure to get the final section done.
