Hi all! Second week back at work! Two days last week, three days this week planned
I'm on the Footscray road - La Trobe street route to Fitzroy so although I did not notice any great upsurge in improvements as touted in the news there were a few welcome changes.
I notice the mega-puddles under the Citylink exit and next to Costco have not returned after yesterdays deluge so it seems they have them in hand now.
The new wider lanes on La Trobe street between Docklands and Spencer street are fab, especially southbound. Always felt I was taking my life in my hands cruising down that slope in the dark with heaven knows what manaical drivers behind me. Feels sooooo good to be socially distanced from the cars
Now bring on new wider lanes for everywhere else, City of Melbourne and local councils!
Very grateful for the return of the bike lane, even though it's an obvious temporary painted one, between Elizabeth and Swanston sts next to the construction. Very happy to forgo the "take the lane and sprint, uphill" necessary before, especially when I'm on my Dutchie.
Quite a few of my bugbears solved. Hope it continues to improve...
