Half a commute today. Checked the email just before setting off to discover all who could work from home should. Seeing I was already geared up, I discarded the backpack and did a nice 1/2 hour ride before setting up the laptop at home for the foreseeable.

Might still make the 1/2 hour morning ride part of the routine though.

I've gone one better by not working at all, currently underemployed and doing school drop off and then disappearing for 2-3 hours of cruising.

After that I start on the jobs from the household Trello board.

I work at a school.
We soldier on.

Im working from home now so, commuting is off the agenda.

I hope to sneak in a few evening rides before daylight savings ends.

I don't work at a school, but my kids' school has had a huge drop off in students, maybe about half.

They've staggered the WFH at my office, in the hope that the IT systems and support don't collapse under the sudden influx. I expect my team's turn will be in the next day or two, and I reckon the whole office will be closed by Monday. The NAB building near us in Docklands closed yesterday with a confirmed case, so it's just a matter of time.

Packed paths again on the way home last night, but it was a very different story this morning. There were noticeably fewer drivers, riders and pedestrians. Workmates have said there were seats on the train, which is unheard of. It's all a bit eerie.

I'm not sure what I'll do when I start WFH. I'll miss my 2 hours of exercise per day and the opportunity it gives to clear my head. I think I'll have to start making myself go for rides anyway, but that's much easier to do when it's part of a daily, enforced routine.

First day WFH for me today.
Hit the Boulie early and it was extremely busy with cyclists from 6:20.
Had to cut it short a litte and drive out to the office to bring some computer equipment home.

A drop. But varies as would be expected in the circumstances. Personal choices.

hmm lots of people riding all of a sudden - I'd say triple the numbers, takes a crisis like this to get them off their lazy asses, oh well, a few positives out of this. a win for commuting :)

Silver lining.

I was happy to hear today that a lot of food from cancelled events had been donated for homeless and those in need. Oysters. Beef. This was my hope for what would happen from hoarding, that maybe people would eventually pass some on in donations when they realised....

Well that's me done with the commuting for the foreseeable - WFH beckons.

I have plans to keep getting out in the mornings for a 20k-ish spin, for if I don't I will become both stir-crazy and the size of a small planet. Let's see how I go.

WFH day 2.
Another nice morning out on the Boulies. Still busy, but perhaps not as busy as yesterday, although I was a little earlier.
Still lots of people riding to work on the MYT, it almost seems the preferred mode of transport.

That's exactly what a plague carrier would say! ;)

My last day in the office today, WFH starts tomorrow.
