Re: How was your commute today

Another lovely morning's ride in! Chatted to another cyclist at a set of lights about the lovely day, and that the weekend is not meant to be as good.

The bike is feeling crunchy - probably should clean the chain, see if it is that or it might be the BB about to die.

Re: How was your commute today

Must have been unofficial Ride to Work Day today, there were so many bike riders on my route. It was great to see. :)

Re: How was your commute today

Yes, the wind was telling me not to go to work today. I unfortunately had to ignore its sage advice and doggedly head in.

Re: The Ascent

That only 1 in 3 ride is pitiful? 33% is pitiful but 50% is fantastic? Hmmmn, perhaps they should look at Pony Club events were female participation is more like 90%. Girls will do what they want to do. Wish there had been more males at Pony Club - there was a noticeable drop-off at a certain age f...

Re: The Ascent

I might do the free events prior, but totally not interested in doing the 100km ride.

Re: How was your commute today

How bloody AWFUL is that climb up Annderson St, the side of the Botanical Gardens?! I rue that freakin hill. Every morning, I limp pathetically up as JOGGERS pass me. Totes embarrassment  :? Maybe you should seek an alternative route? Haha. :P (Just kidding). Just think how good it is for a c...

Practice being 'cleatbidextrous'. You'll thank me one day.

I can do both after a couple of clipstacks when starting off, but prefer one over the other. :P

Re: How was your commute today

Lost a cleat bolt and nut either on the way home last night or on the way to work this morning. Thought I had heard a clicking sound last morning, but didn't tighten the bolts when I checked the shoe. It is my non-clipping out shoe, so won't be a problem for the ride home to where I have spares. Sec...

Re: City of Melb next two year of major works!

I'd like to thank CoM for the magnificent job of making the part time bike lane on Exhibition virtually unrideable (road bike) between Latrobe and Little Lonsdale southbound, awesome job fellas removing solid green treatment and replacing with green lumps. Ron The Collins Street gutter bike lane be...

Re: How was your commute today

Pushy taxi driver and aggressive cyclist last night on Collins Street. A bus had its rear poking out beside the Novotel and a tram was coming just as a taxi was going to move forward in the traffic queue, making it a tight squeeze. The cyclist decides he is going to go between the bus rear and the t...

Re: How was your commute today

Saw a roadie with the full lycra rig with a huge full backpack and a suit bag attached to the side of the backpack. Still faster than me, but looked like a pack camel! Sounds like me on a Monday. :P Last night the cyclist in front of me on Collins Street on the uphill between Swanston and Russell a...

I heard someone has now been badly injured from the tacks - smashed helmet and all. Hope they heal fast and make a complete recovery.

Re: How was your commute today

A nice ride in this morning, apart from a smallish bus spotting a parking space on William St and attempting to turn across the bike lane without checking first. The three cyclists alongside him pulled up quick smart. I'm thinking of getting a horn for those types of situations. Similar situation t...
