Re: Hire a wheel set for one - two days

.... I had it rebuilt by jetnikoff cycles in Brunswick that do a top job. It needed a tweak after about 2 months of commuting which is fairly normal and they accommodated me easily. I'd go again there also if they are nearby or a handy location ....... . Hi parawolf - thanks for the tip. Yes, Jetni...

Hi Zak8 - (if you're still with us) I trust the wheels you got were OK. How did you go in the ATB?

Re: Hire a wheel set for one - two days

............ In Melbourne we are very fortunate in having some very good active wheel builders and I am sure some recommendations will be forthcoming. Hi fixie - thanks for the info & links. Very interesting. I hadn't previously thought about carbon wheels because some of the roads I ride on ca...

Re: Hire a wheel set for one - two days

........... Especially when you can buy a decent training bike for the cost of a fancy wheelset. Hmmmnnnn; YES , exactly my problem right at the moment. My road bike wheels have done a lot of Kms and broken two spokes in the last 6 months. The mechanic says the bearings are starting to show...

If you're not worried about privacy issues perhaps publish your Strava profile (incl. athlete number) here and some of us who are on Strava may possibly be able to provide some helpful hints.

Re: Why the delay in reporting?

Hi Victor, the reason is that it wasn't until today that the police made it public and issued a request for witnesses to come forward. Both newspapers (Age & Hun) immediately published the police request.

Re: Beginner speed

Three suggestions: 1. Do you have a smart phone? Apps like Strava can give you an idea of how you compare to everyone else in that area. 2. Try to improve your own times and be content with that. 3. Just enjoy the ride and ignore the stats :D , Good advice ^^^^. Yes, Strava ( or something similar )...

Re: Dromana to Sorrento is it possible ?

There's an on-road marked bike lane all the way and there will be a lot of other cyclists. There are some tracks closer to the beach but they are not necessarily connected, they wiggle a lot and sometimes have sand over them. It will be slow going. If you can stretch yourself to do an extra 10Kms th...

Re: First magpie attack of the 2017 season

Hi Grenalias, what condition is the track, gravel? sealed? Would appreciate your insight. All of the trail ( from Tallarook to Mansfield and the "side" trail to Alexandra ) is gravel. When it was first opened about 5-6 years ago it was very rough. However, in the years since there has bee...

Re: First magpie attack of the 2017 season

Rode the Yea to Alexandra trail yesterday. All the riders in the group commented that they had never seen so many magpies on one ride before. Some of them were most persistent making multiple swoops at several riders. Fortunately, no injuries or mishaps - just a nuisance.

Hi Snuffy, thanks for doing that. Looks like my shoes are "heavy". Does N = N + 1 also apply to shoes?
