Re: Bike storage for 5 bikes plus car in small garage

I put three lengths of 42x19 timber across the back garage wall, screwed into studs. Then put bike "hanger" (bit like this ) across the top two boards, then the bottom two, ... (repeat) at around handlebar width apart. The height difference provides enough clearance. Had up to six bikes mo...

Re: How was your commute today

Both The Age and the Herald Sun are reporting "thick fog" out there. What rubbish: visibility down to a few 100m isn't thick fog. Stop blowing things completely out of proportion. If they didn't blow things out of proportion, they'd be left with very little to write about...

Re: Motor found inside bike

Although I do not condone this behaviour, if a motor can be hidden inside a frame they will be contributing to future non-clunky e-bike technology, which is a good thing. (Similar to the US / UK / Israeli War Machines spawning tech which is useful in peacetime. Velcro, the internet, that kind of th...

Re: Cyclist haters

Is walking your dog while riding included, too? I think it is, but maybe indirectly. I seem to recall that you can't exercise an animal while in a vehicle / driving. I think it was clarified a long time ago to stop people "exercising" horses and dogs by holding the lead/reigns and ...

Re: Recommended Road Gearing for GVBR 2016?

Your setup sounds quite suitable - depending on your ability. I've found I'm much stronger on hills after the Great Vic - all that practice. Assuming you're talking about the 2017 ride around Gippsland, the overall profile is here . Without having ridden the route, it looks like rolling hills rather...

Re: How was your commute today

Yay, first commute for me in ages, probably this year. Mid week sailing has been interfering, as well as lots of family bits and pieces. Ride in was slower than it used to be, but very pleasant - just a bit of drizzle from Fairfield into the CBD. Rain predicted tonight, so I'll ride home when it loo...

Sharp eyes Wagger, thanks. I hope you're right, but as the route doesn't seem to have changed I fear nothing significant is planned.
