Re: Why are the Forums slowing down?

Consider this: The route for the 2019 GVBR has been announced - Limestone Coast and (half of) The Great Ocean Road. How does the GVBR garner conversation from the regulars? I am sure most like me have no interest in that ride. I would suggest the stats would show participants are mostly school age ...

Re: Why are the Forums slowing down?

I have an old TEAC record player at home. It's not broken, it doesn't need fixing, but I hardly ever use it. I prefer to listen to music on my CD player or my phone because its so much easier and more convenient. I have a couple of vintage valve radios at home. They still work (after some repairs)....

Re: Why are the Forums slowing down?

One of the reasons this forum is so quiet is that BN have made no effort to update the forum software with recent technology: it's still running on software that's at least 20 years old. 20 years ago I was still using bulletin board service, I think. With a dodgy modem from Canada. Maybe that was 3...

Re: What did you find on the road today?

I found an Iphone on the Mullum Mullum Path near Ringwood on my way home yesterday afternoon. It took a little chasing but, I was able to return it to the delighted young lady who owned it. Its not often I'm able to do something useful when riding. Well done, btw, do you drive a 2CV? Yes, I drive a...

Re: They haven't mentioned the hermits!

Maybe they could get the ABS to run a "postal survey"? https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/our-campaigns/policy-reviews/helmet-review/ When I terminated my BN (or was it BV or BNV back then? For a while they simply couldn't decide  ) membership several years ago, one of the reasons I ...

Some serious riding happening there. Enjoy.

We just finished the Passau to Vienna leg of the Danube ride. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

Re: Bicycle Network luring me into another organised ride?

You think that's expensive? How about $3,400 for 8 days in the outback, also a BN ride. Excluding flights, add flights and some pocket money and you are looking at $5K :o :o . I can do two 10 day rides in Europe for that including flights. Sounds like a golfing holiday. Is the accommodation golf co...
