Sound like you really need an old fashioned touring bike. Comes with drop handlebars but a slightly longer wheelbase than a road bike - not quite as responsive as the road bike but a lot better than a hybrid. Tourers have frame clearance for larger tyres to handle the trails and I am quite comfortab...
