This notice can now be found in many French churches: En entrant dans cette église, il est possible que vous entendiez l'appel de Dieu. Par contre, il n’est pas susceptible de vous contacter par téléphone. Merci d'avoir éteint votre téléphone. Si vous souhaitez parler à Dieu, entrez, choisissez un e...

Re: So, who regularly uses the Melbourne Bike Share?

According to the Herald-Sun this morning, the Vic government has made the decision to scrap the scheme. I wonder if their postmortem will mention anything about mandatory helmets and intolerant motorists being among the real causes of the bike share failing? The absence of both those factors is com...

Re: Box Hill to Ringwood Rail Trail

But what I find more annoying is the Springvale rd crossing. Heading east the path just seems to stop at Springvale rd. There are no directions on where to cross and no signage on where to pick up the path again. Ian S Mary and I rode the trail yesterday. There is a new ped crossing not yet complet...

If you've ever worked for a boss who reacts before getting the facts and thinking things through, you will love this! Arcelor-Mittal Steel, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a new CEO. The new boss was determined to rid the company of all slackers. On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed...

Re: Jacka Blvd ped death

Far be it for a Melbourne daily newspaper to get it wrong, but has anybody got any idea what the speed limit is along Jacka Blvd? I don't think I've ever seen a sign saying it's 40 - and if it was I might suggest setting up a speed camera there would be one of the more profitable locations ever 40 ...

Re: Jokes.

A Catholic Priest, a Baptist Preacher and a Rabbi were sitting around drinking coffee. Someone made the comment that preaching to people isn't really all that hard, a real challenge would be to preach to a bear. One thing led to another, and they decided that each would find a bear and attempt to co...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Good report Gerry.M Unfortunately many rural shires just don't have enough funding to maintain their rail trails. A fellow KBTC member has just returned from an AllTrails ride along the Orbost to Bairnsdale and she said it was a goat track in places. Re the use of slicks, Jan Heine (who has opinions...
