Strava

Strava have announced that the KOM etc segments will no longer be available on their free section of the app and if you want to know your position on the leader boards you now have to pay. So much whining like dodgy diffs (these used to be a component of a rear wheel drive car and early models tende...

Re: Great Victorian Bike Ride 2019

I doubt this year's ride will go ahead, even if the current restrictions are relaxed. Having 4,000 people close together, using the same amenities and sweating all over each other doesn't seem like a good idea. And a month later not much has changed. Now what about the Around the Bay. Some of those...

Re: How was your commute today

Had a nasty close pass from a bus a couple of weeks ago and submitted a complaint (with video) to PTV. A good response: We write in response to your serious complaint regarding the dangerous driving actions of our driver in bus number 1141 on the 03/03/2020 Case XXXXXX. Firstly we would like to apo...

Re: bicycle maintenance stand

I have the Gripsport workstand that is no longer produced. It's angular, heavy and hurts like hell if you accidentally headbutt it while doing a disc brake bleed. It is also likely to be the only thing left standing in my house in the event of nuclear armageddon. If it was still being produced, I w...

Re: Great Victorian Bike Ride 2019

I rode the GVBR from 1999-2007 and absolutely loved it. On the ride the staff produce the "Good Oil" newsletter, it shows the daily info. This year it is online and it brought back some great memories of my GVBR rides. https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/rides-and-events/great-victorian-bik...

Yes, quite good IMO. They were riding past the Blue Lake in Mount Gambier then pics of the camp site and sound bites from a few of the riders.
