Re: How was your commute today

IMO I'm not sure there's a lot of fact behind that theory. I've heard it many times before, but I haven't seen any studies that back that up. Generally I'll wear the 3/4 knickers if it's 12C or less, and the full longs if we're down to single figures. This suggests it's just folk law. https://www.b...

Re: How was your commute today

One more day of commuting before heading up to the snow for the season. I’ve stayed in nothing more than shorts, base layer, t-shirt and spray jacket all the way through. Started with gloves a couple of weeks back, still not putting socks on Probably could have done with slightly warmer gloves toda...

Re: How was your commute today

Fresh and enjoyable. No winds to fight. Must have been a little cold because toes were starting to get a little chilled as I approached work. Perhaps toe covers might have been the smart play, but I don't usually bother on the commute. Love shoe covers. They were my biggest epiphany when I first st...

Re: Anniversary Trail bridge over Toorak rd

Wasn't thinking about the cars and train line above. To be honest I avoid that intersection when driving for just that reason! Surprising that they haven't removed that train crossing yet...

Re: Anniversary Trail bridge over Toorak rd

Now we just need the same treatment for the numerous GCT road crossings: there are too many, and they're all risky to cross. Who doesn't love diving into the CX-style sand trap under Toorak Road?? About time they fixed that too! That won't be happening soon if ever. What are the realistic opt...

I run that path every now and then and can confirm the crossing is sub standard in its current form!

Re: How was your commute today

First commute in nearly 2 1/2 weeks due to being out one week with a man cold and then the last week and a half due to my lower back seizing up... Hard slog today given the loss of fitness and the back complaining the whole way; have booked in for another Osteo session this Friday.

Re: How was your commute today

Dark. Note to many riders: flashing lights and paths are less than optimal mix. Some flashing lights brightness and strobe flashing frequency should be banned! Especially when on a dark bike path! Would be nice if other riders also turned down the brightness of their lights when on paths... Thankfu...

Rain shadow between Warnambool and Port Fairy - it never rains down there!*

*Pack the floaties - most of the area will be under water!
