Stayed at a pub in Heathcote. It was...ok. Both pubs in town didn't impress us at all, we ended up getting some decent beers from the IGA to have with Pizza from the local takeaway for dinner.

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Did a two day trip with a few friends on Sunday & Monday. The plan was to train to Bendigo, ride the O'Keefe rail trail to Heathcote, overnight in a pub, then make our way to Tallarook to get the train back to Melb. However VLine running replacement buses changed plans, so we rode back to Craigi...

Re: Melbournes worst bike paths

As per many of the above comments, Upfield Bike Path gets my vote for the worst - way too narrow. This has caused accidents between oncoming riders. I'd rather ride Sydney Road. I've been hit by a car on the Upfield bike path...yes the bike path   And doored on Sydney Road...just can't ...

Re: Melbournes worst bike paths

The Upfield bike path.
Narrow. Crowded. Lots of street cross-overs.
The good thing about it is the fairy lights they have installed along parts, to light it up at night. The position of the lights (only a metre high) mean that you don't get excessive shadowing as you ride :D

Re: Ride a bike to Woods Point? OK, why not ....

So... would a solo overnighter from Warburton to Woods Point and back be a really bad idea? <snip> Thoughts? I have a window of opportunity coming up... tim Hey Tim, Totally do-able. Ian, Martin, Tony & I went that way last year on our way to Bright. We also stayed at the Reefton Hotel (lovely)...
