Re: Melbourne lockdown

Try this mapping feature to work out 5 km radius from home...we may all need it soon

https://www.mapdevelopers.com/draw-circle-tool.php

It’s best on a desk top or iPad not phone. Fill in address and 5km then click “new circle” Also click “border only“ box top right.

Re: Melbourne lockdown

From the Q&A on The Age: So no driving to go for a bike ride. It's arguable that you could drive, for example, to the nearest MTB trails if you intend riding MTB. The nuances are almost impossible to define or understand. No, not arguable. If you can ride your MTB locally to exercise , then you...

Re: Melbourne lockdown

From the Q&A on The Age: How far away from my house can I ride my bike? You should show common sense in satisfying your exercise requirements, and go the minimum time and minimum distance that achieve this in your circumstances I've been looking forward to doing the Bay Trail bike ride. I live i...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Boy's first actual 'ride' out from home. Fourth actual two wheeler ride solo. The others were practice in a park. We left from home and went to a shared path. Crossed one major road, out and back (and four minor crossings on foot) . A few hills, the biggest of which necessitated walking down and up...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Tried the nearby shared trails through the wetlands and along the Patterson River yesterday. OMG it was so busy that I felt like I was in a video game - people riding, walking, running, phone zombieing, randomly stopping in the middle of the trail, dogs, prams, toddlers, you name it  I have ...

I have been predominatly sticking to bike paths the last 6 weeks or so. Today was my 17th 'bike path pootle', as I've been calling them on Strava. Just beautiful out today :D https://scontent.fmel5-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/97376072_10158427179744826_6590715469915750400_o.jpg?_nc_cat=102&_nc_sid=...

My office has closed access to the bike cage and end-of-trip facilities.
No notice, just arrived to find them all locked up, needed to call security to obtain items from your locker or bike cage (eg lock). I know most city workers are working from home, ....but

Re: women's beach rd cycling group

This seemed the approrpriate thread. wordnerd instigated a Beach Rd ride for Saturday - Heather and I showed up. I am not riding these days, other than a trip here and there. The proposed 100km Franga return seemed silly, so I only did 116km. Thankfully they took it easy on me. Pub stop for beer an...
