Re: How was your commute today

its a positive move; of course the real challenge will be to get the fatties out of their cars in winter, what we might need are push teams at the bottom of hills for the hopelessly sedentary. govt, needs to probably offer a tax incentive for bicycles, I'm still amazed at people standing at tram sto...

Re: Hit run fatality on Beach Road

General comment on how a bike lane can sometimes make it more dangerous for cyclists. If you look at where the incident occurred, its where the road architecture has created a narrow/slow point - i.e. keep the cyclists to the left whilst still allowing vehicles to proceed on corner unhindered, of co...

Re: How was your commute today

hmm lots of people riding all of a sudden - I'd say triple the numbers, takes a crisis like this to get them off their lazy asses, oh well, a few positives out of this. a win for commuting :)

Re: Closure of the Upfield Path in Coburg for 18 months and problems with the proposed detours

hey mate, you can get angry and expect the govt to do everything for you or you can move on, find your own route, plenty of quite roads that run parallel with the path. I use Colebrook st etc, if you weave the back streets from parkville, no problems. hopefully the future path will be better than wh...

Re: How was your commute today

rode home yesterday think it was 39, only light north winds, and that's the energy zapper so just a warmish ride without the nasty hair dryer wind. victor can't remember what the loss of temperature is per elevation gain, think its 9 degrees per 1000 metres, that's the only positive starting a climb...

Re: Cause I know you know...

welcome back ...really no point trying to defend cycling, the obese, lazy, unhealthy, ignorant, car addicted whatever can't be convinced as it would require a complete paradigm shift in who they are, like trying to convince an illiterate person about global warming it aren't going to happen. I gener...

Re: How was your commute today

sadly not such a great day for a fellow commuter. Royal Parade - the age heading to city; I suspect it's where traffic from your left converges into lane, putting the squeeze on cyclists as you have traffic on your right as well and only a skinny lane to stay in. general comment about area; solution...
