Ministerial Runaround on M80 Upgrade and Merri Creek Path extension link

t feels like I'm banging my head against the wall on the M80Upgrade project and getting a 300 metre shared use link path extension of the Merri Creek Trail as part of this project. When I got the double runaround from both the Minister for Roads and Minister for Transport Infrastructure, it was like...

Re: Closure of the Upfield Path in Coburg for 18 months and problems with the proposed detours

I'll be okay, a little bit inconvenienced. I have been riding on-road since 1973. The problem is there is a substantial cohort of users of the Upfield Path who are do not have on-road confidence. That is the problem that the proposed detours have failed to grapple with. And the proposed detours for ...

Closure of the Upfield Path in Coburg for 18 months and problems with the proposed detours

So the Upfield bike path is closing for 18 months from 6 February to mid 2021. https://levelcrossings.vic.gov.au/disruptions/coburg-and-brunswick-upfield-bike-path-closure LXRP and VicRoads have done detours without any consultation with local cyclists. The proposed detour routes fail to meet the ne...

Re: Assessment of Level Crossing Removal Coburg - Bell St to Moreland Rd on Upfield Bike path

From that analysis, basically the bare minimum they can get away, with very few real improvements to the path and in some places, potentially going backwards. No great surprise there, given LXRA's history at Camp Rd and Buckley St. Even in terms of the carcentric nature of level crossing removal re...

Re: Assessment of Level Crossing Removal Coburg - Bell St to Moreland Rd on Upfield Bike path

I'd like to say Bicycle Network was supporting the local people, including many cyclists, in the campaign to upgrade the Upfield bike path, particularly the congestion points and conflict zones, but they are not. This is the type of shitty stuff that BN does regarding Upfield bike path. https://www....

Shitty promotion by BN on Upfield Bike Path and Level Crossing Removal

This is the type of shitty stuff that BN does regarding Upfield bike path. Nothing on the failure to address Bell Street and Moreland Rd Congestion points and conflict zones. It honestly feels like we are fighting our own peak organisation: https://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/newsroom/2019/08/29/major...

Level Crossing Removal Coburg - Bell St to Moreland Rd

4 level crossings will be removed in one project in Coburg and Brunswick: Bell Street, Munro Street, Reynard Street and Moreland Road with one stretch of elevated rail. The arterial cycling route - Upfield Bike path - will be upgraded in the process, but to what extent, and whether the changes will ...

Re: Petition to extend the Upfield Bike Path to Upfield in northern suburbs of Melbourne

State Government is funding extension of the Upfield Path to the Western Ring Road Path beside the M80. Actually, I believe it is partial funding of this project, with the other part being Moreland Council. This is good, but does not go far enough. For one thing it doesn't resolve the dangerous issu...

Re: Camp Rd Level Crossing Removal and the Upfield Path

No surprise here. The Level Crossing Authority failed to provide any north-south cycling infrastructure as part of this Level Crossing Removal despite being urged to do so by Hume Council, myself and others. In fact, access from the Western Ring Road to Camp Road has actually gone backwards with the...

Camp Rd Level Crossing Removal and the Upfield Path

Just did a visit to the Camp Road Level crossing removal site at Campbellfield in Melbourne's north. This is the first level crossing removal slated for the Upfield and Craigieburn lines. It is important to cyclists as it is a point on the proposed extension of the Upfield Shared Use path to Upfield...

Without wanting to step on the toes of the people at Fuse Photography, is there any way we can set up a spot for people to share their photos? I would be happy to put a few of mine up for general circulation. I have also realised that I don't have any of the shower trucks, and they are kind of diff...
