Re: How was your recreational ride today?

It'll be easier when the clocks change won't it ? Sun will be up earlier … or is getting out early the problem? :?

Either way - good luck ! ;)

Also Tim Pallas when Minister for Transport ?

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Despite going to the dark side (power meter on the 'good' bike  ) I still regard all my cycling as recreational. I'm not a racer at all so the PM is just to focus some of my rides to 'training' so I can enjoy all the really good ones. ;) Had some fun recently with spending 20 minutes ...

Re: First magpie attack of the 2017 season

One belt on the shoulder from a magpie last weekend - first of the season for me here in Melbourne. But there’s been a busy spur-winged plover for the past two weeks on one of my regular routes.

They are pretty harmless, I just keep riding.

For Sale - 2017 Giant TCR Adv 1 Disc 54/M

FOR SALE - $1600 Bought this unit last spring for my summer rides. Wanted a light, fast, climber and this fit the bill perfectly. I rode 227 kms Around the Bay, 174 kms at Ride Daylesford and 112 kms at Alpine Classic. Along the way completed several big training rides (though not enough for the Al...

Re: Look what I found on the bike path today....

I once saw a goanna-sized lizard run across the Basin-Olinda Rd 30m ahead of me and up a tree. He was at least 1.2 m long and very fast !

A flock of cockys were going nuts at him. I think he was after a nest up the tree.

Re: RIP - UJ1

Justin's son Simon and a few of Justin's friends went to Bright last week and rode the Alpine Classic as a bit of a memorial ride for UJ1. A good day and a great tribute to Justin, especially from his son Simon and nephew Lincoln, who both rode the 200 under 10 hours in the poor conditions. Simon al...

8360 kms for 2018. I still use a spreadsheet & MyCyclingLog for all rides, most go on Strava …. :D I started seriously riding on retirement late 2010 (at 55 ;) ) and have logged every ride since - 71,131.34 kms. ! My average calendar year has been 8,721 kms so pretty close this ye...

Re: High Fidelity - music musings

Not sure about 'Hi-Fidelity' …. but if anyone is in Ballarat for the RoadNats this weekend, and wants to see a band on Friday night (4th Jan), head to Irish Murphy's in Sturt St and see my band ScorchingTones from about 8:30-9pm. I rode up there on 'Ride Daylesford' a month or so back.

Looks to be near the top of the 'gap' and should have been good light at 6:25pm.

WTB - Spare Cannondale CAADX Saddle

Anyone have a standard saddle from a Cannondale CAADX from about 2011 onwards lying around? I've had several bikes since my 2011 CAADX (which I still have) but they have all had dodgy saddles. The old CAADX saddle is currently on my Spesh Diverge and is great but I now also have a new(ish) road bike...
