Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Bit shy of 24km on foot, walking with Marti as a training outing.
Stuffed myself silly with gnocchi, pasta, foccacia, prosecco and cannolo at the cheese factory's festival.
Now it's time for a beer....

Re: How was your commute today

you're not going to like this response but a left turn on a red into cycle lane is a pretty safe move, in certain circumstances you're at more risk waiting at red as your risk is from behind, where left turner keeps risk in front of them and within their control. its a bit of a pardigm shift in how...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

15km walk/hike yesterday, so thought a ride today would help my slightly sore hips.

Heading out on shared path towards Craigieburn, I met H going the opposite way. She turned and joined me, and it made my 40km ride a pleasant social outing :D

Re: How was your commute today

Haven't been able to commute by bike thus week, sadly. Just too much to carry, and too many places to be...

Re: Meat & 3 Veg

I have been experimenting with chutney making lately. After the success of my deconstructed licorice chutney from last week, I made a tropical mango and passionfruit chutney today. Now I can hardly wait for tomorrow's lunch :) Let me know when the mango passionfruit chutney is available online

Re: Meat & 3 Veg

Earlier in the week I did a couple of Japanese dishes - teriyaki chicken / rice / broccolini by Boy's request, and sesame soy egg with noodles and fresh greens. Had a coconut sticky rice with caramelised bananas + fresh strawberries for dessert. Will definitely do again, so good. Super boring spag b...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Rode with the Boy to drop him at the grandparents', the long slow way by path. 12.5km for him, 25km for me with the return trip.

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Nothing as fabulous looking as the rides above, just our 11km park play trip.

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Not by bike. Hiked about 6.5km of sections of the Goldfield Track with the Boy, near Hepburn/Daylesford. Signs up about an event, trail markers... then three guys coming from the opposite direction in the kind of kit I'd use for endurance events. Asked them what it was all for - they were out markin...

Re: How was your commute today

Might as well enjoy your bicycle commuting while you still have a chance. The hotel quarantine system has just resumed, and based on previous iterations will probably result in another infection spread and lockdown. We were cynically betting on how long it would be before community transmission had...

Re: How was your commute today

No commuting for me by bike this week until tomorrow - all car trips. Short car trips, but still, not as nice as bike. Will get a ride on Friday for the holiday.

So the rain is your fault.....

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

About 35km, punctuated by a brewery stop. The second half of the ride, legs a bit dead from beer, headwind, more of a climb.
All good.
Nice day, good to see some of the changes to paths around Northland, as they've finished upgrading.
