Re: inspirational cyclists/cycling

Just watched my recorded Giro Rosa stage. Effing hard steep climb to end it. One more day.

Re: (fairly) high performance kids bikes

Re: How was your commute today

The usual weekly commute. But a bit earlier than of late.
No high winds, and nice temps = smashing ride. Enjoyed.

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

One of our usual out and back trips for 18km on the tagalong. Lots of roos nearby in the paddock so stopped to say hello. Long downhill back gets us to 35km/hr and he loves it. Need to do a bit more exploring, the Boy is getting bored of some of our usual routes. Some just suit child solo or tagalon...

Not a cycling one - unless you've been to hospital as a cyclist, right?

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Have bike. Will ride. Boy solo today, me on MTB. Best way to break up a WFH day. He's getting more confident, willing to try some things he wouldn't before. Still has to walk up or down hills here and there depending on how steep and how confident. Need that N+ 1... Waiting on lockdown ending..... P...

Re: How was your commute today

The weekly commute. Quick and easy. Coming home it's always busier than going in, but left home late today so both trips were busier than my preference, without being ridiculous. I appreciate that dog walkers put leashes on their pets, but those extendable ones pretty much make it worse than none at...

Re: Moon and Jupiter

Watched the free live stream from the people at Mt Burnett Observatory last night. Very thankful for these people volunteering their time this way, and the funding through Cardinia. Little mini talks on the earth's orbit, nebulae, and Jupiter. The Redshift planetarium software the guy used to show J...

Re: How was your commute today

Bit of a windy commute today, especially on the way home. MTB day.

Sprint points: racing past large trees in 50+km/hr gusts, where branches have been coming down....

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Damn fine day for a late morning work break to do a ride with the Boy, on our individual bikes, not the tagalong.

Re: Melbourne lockdown

I note the lockdown easing rules include the banning of carpooling. Given that, I suspect, PT usage will also be well down, I can only hope that there is still a lot of WFH* because, otherwise, the roads are going to be crammed! Commute cycling may become interesting. *I say this very selfishly bec...

Re: Meat & 3 Veg

Visiting Japan tonight. Yakitori chicken skewers, beef gyōza, miso soup with tofu, soba noodles, steamed broccoli, zucchini, carrots. Some baked goods made via Boy's interest this afternoon: toffee bars with chocolate on top. Really, it's just a giant choc chip cookie in a tray, with the chocolate m...

Re: How was your commute today

But I'm with you in the fitness thing - I am way down and am going to have to address that big time. Also my riding gear appears to have shrunk. This. Went to a different park today to run in the oval. Several laps of the perimeter to get about 4km in for me - half dry/hard surface, half wet/mucky ...
