Re: How was your commute today

Beautiful morning. Unfortunately I was running behind schedule to get to work, so the ride was very focussed on just getting there. Nearly flew completely past AK before I recognised him waving at me.

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Cool cloudy morning gave way to sun and rising temp. I saw the Boy off to play cricket, then I did an out and back to Craigieburn. Warmer by then, I would've preferred the morning. Otherwise, lovely ride. Lots of bunnies out there. Long grasses lapping at the edges of the path. Insects droning. Plen...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

I don't think you have too much to worry about Canuck. From my own experience, and I have read other people making the same claim, regaining fitness is quicker and easier than obtaining it in the first place. Another ride or two and you will probably be back up to speed. Now that I only do long rid...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Bit shy of 40km out solo on the MTB in a combo of roads, paths, and trails along the creeks/river. Did a big loop, returning finally by St Georges Rd in the heat of the late afternoon /early evening. The last 10km were hard. Bonked, massive sinus headache. Couple painkillers and a bath at home, dinn...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Nice day for a tagalong ride - just under two hours riding, and two hours at parks - four parks total for the outing. We saw a fairly large roo on the path - followed the poor thing for a while. It was stuck between the Ring Road barrier wall and the fence / creek near Darebin Creek path area as we ...

Re: If you have to read the news today....

This was from a while back, but I forgot about it. Saw a similar program with a different kind of cargo chair pedal bike last year in Canada. That one was on a path in my brothers town outside Van. Clearly more cities taking it up. Hope there are programs like this when my time comes... https://nort...

Re: Meat & 3 Veg

Have wood smoked (hot smoked) salmon to eat up. Cooked up some angel hair pasta with a sauce of olive oil, garlic, parsley, dill, verjuice, sour cream, lemon zest. Added in some asparagus, spring onion and spinach. Topped with parmesan, pepper and crumbled on the salmon. Side salad greens, tomatoes,...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

The Boy has been getting used to his new bike. Building confidence with the different handling and size, and no more back pedal braking.... Yesterday we did 11km, and he now better appreciates the gears. He got up hills he struggled on or couldn't do every time on the old bike. He's getting excited ...

Re: How was your commute today

All those drivers with a tenuous link previously, learning how to drive again....? Hmmmmm I find running and riding in a scary far northern suburb genuinely safe. Moreso when the Boy is with me on his bike. The dudes are courteous. The idiots never change, but they are rare. Even the souped up Commo...

Re: Meat & 3 Veg

Very trad type stuff for tonight - some in the oven now. Lamb shanks in stout, slow cooked (other stuff in there, of course). Mash + the sauce to come once cooked and reduced. Roasted carrots. Peas. Green salad with some tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella. Possibly make some sort of Gruffalo crumble fo...
