Not much improvement since the last time I rode home. Why do VicRoads think that 90 degree turns are acceptable? They are a recipe for disaster. On a more positive note the new temporary diversion onto the road is pretty good. Should we paint bike symbols on it and claim it? :D

OK I went to have a look this morning in the wet. Who could possibly design something so bad? There was not much cycle or other traffic around but I see the problems. I cannot imagine how this path will cope on one of Melbourne's busiest cycling commuter routes without being a total disaster...

Seems I cannot edit either.... The Saturday rides Karen3.1 mentioned are from the bike shop in Pier Street (near the newsagent between Railway St & Blyth St). I haven't been on one in quite a while but they were fine. They often head off to Werribee South at (from memory) 7.30am. It is called Cy...

Sorry, have had a lot of problems posting recently (it keeps chucking me out and I have to type everything 3 times). BayWest BUG have a small road riding contingent. There is a road ride this Sunday (weather permitting) starting at Werribee out to the You Yangs. Check http://www.baywestbug.org.au. F...

Hi AK I think it is about 4 hours on flashing mode but I usually charge after each use. The biggest issue with the O ring is do you have a suitable place to mount it? I use a panier to cart all my junk and the light is mounted on the back of the rack. It has never fallen off (hey, I don't ever do 60...

The 4xAA version & I just added batteries I had lying around. They are a tad heavy but I carry lots of work stuff when I commute.

I have a Dinotte rear light - just don't try to ride with anyone else as they are VERY bright. Many other cyclists have commented that they can see me from a long way away. Great for commuting. Mine came from Peter White cycles.

Pier St Cycling Supermarket isn't selling coffee just yet (unless his permit has come through in the last week). Looking forward to having a coffee in a bike shop after a ride!

I don't think the Willi shop has coffee.

Hi mjs

That was Carol from BayWest BUG. She was a tad busy - 584 bikes counted this morning.

I was one of THEM!!! :D :D :D (Corner of Mason St and Millers Rd Altona North). Not too much bike traffic to report (27) however most people in this area would probably leave pre 7am. I sure do. Other half counted two (2) cyclists in 2 hours at Kororoit Ck and Burns Rd Altona. My sister was on Shep...

Yes!! I hate it.

The numerous light poles (or the remains of them) and creeping weeds certainly make it a challenge. :(
