Re: Which physical (not just online) Melb bike shops have the largest clothing range (so ppl can try on before buying)?

Thanks snuffy. Took me a while to find that they have a bricks and mortar store - in Black Rock - as their mobile website is very shop-online focused.

Re: How was your commute today

I didn't fall over while getting back on my bike after stickybeaking at the South Melbourne fire this morning.

Hang on, no, I did.

Re: Riding Safely - Fly6, ICEDots and a whole lot more....

Since getting nice bright lights, I have them on at all times, day or night. Since getting them, I have had much fewer scary incidents with cars. Hence I recommend doing this. I also wear a little mirror off my glasses, so I don't have to turn my head awkwardly to see behind. I also recommend this: ...

Re: FlyPedals

As a person who uses flat pedals, but starting to think of going clipless, can anyone explain why this would be better than using those dual-purpose pedals (one side for clipless, one side flat pedal)? http://www.amazon.com/Shimano-PD-M324-Dual-Platform-Pedal/dp/B00AZ2OID8 http://ecx.images-amazon.c...

Re: How was your commute today

Today was a huge day. It was the first time I commuted to work by bicycle (actually electric-bike). 12.1km each way. Took me about 33 minutes each way. Was shocked that it was actually faster than my public transport option (30 min bus ride and a 27 min walk). That's a beautiful spot to begin a rid...

Re: How was your commute today

^ Mega rad! I really felt the benefit of my new route tonight. After getting on the Upfield bike path I noticed lots of bad cyclist behaviour - not giving way to pedestrians, too-close overtaking when there was oncoming traffic, etc. I felt so relaxed after the calm zen of the CCT that I wasn't both...

Re: How was your commute today

Glass, glass everywhere on the Upfield Path around 6.30am this morning. Is the culprit the carry-out provision at the Railway Hotel? It's suspiciously close. Alternately - the Safeway grog shop? It's very frustrating.

Re: How was your commute today

Which bit of the CCT are you using? I find the section from St Georges Rd to Royal Pde good, but often quite busy. I really enjoy the section from Royal Pde, past the zoo, following Citylink to Footscray Rd, because it's flowing, with only one road crossing, and fewer users. From Royal Pde/Park St ...

Re: How was your commute today

I've been cautiously shifting more and more to riding the CCT home, and today I rode it in for the first time. I didn't click that there would be so much downhill! Whee, etc. It seems good. I like it. Too good to be true. I'm suspicious. What's wrong with it?
