Re: How was your recreational ride today?

2/2. Was riding down a local bike trail this morning and managed to impale a stick through my tyre and tube, which were both completely borked, necessitating a walk home. Fortunately I was on a loop and only 20 minutes from home. Lets hope I won't have a 3rd misfortune tomorrow ;) No news means goo...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Was feeling motivated, despite the cold to get my 2 hours exercise, at 6am today. 0.8 on our home weather station.
Was flying down Doncaster rd in North Balwyn and came around the corner and hit a shoddy bit of road repair, and pinch flat.
Now let me tell you changing a tyre at 1C is quite painful!

The mask subsection clearly indicates exercise is an exception.

Re: Melbourne lockdown

Time to dust off those 5km radius loops. You can say that again. Two hours of exercise per day, with one other person if you like, within 5 km of your house(s). Might need to wear a mask? Now compulsory for indoors and outdoors, except at home. More info here: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-05-27...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Nice.
Back to working from home and it was quite damp for the "pre-work" ride.
At least the traffic dropped off from earlier in the week.

Re: Tyre* Size vs Rim Size Advice

A 42 would seem rather large for that width rim IMO (i'm assuming the 16 corresponds to either the internal or external width of the rim) Eg on 21mm internal width rims I'm happy to run 25-28 mm tyres. 32mm might work (but I'd don't have the clearance to try), but I wouldn't go wider. I pinched this...

Blustery ride in. Got half way to work and realized I didn't fit the rear fender, as planned, for the expected wet ride home. Looks like I'm going to get a wet arse. ... and cyclists behind you will give plenty of clearance! Too true. Fortunately the worst of the rain had well and truly passe...
