I am going to replace my 9 speed chain and cassette on my touring bike. Presently it has a Shimano CN-HG 53 chain and a Shimano 11/34 Cassette. Is the CN-HG 93 chain better than the CN-HG 53 chain. Also would I be able to change the Cassette to a 12/36 using the Shimano CS-HG 400 9 speed cassette wh...

Re: Gravel tyres

I think it's the Marathon Plus ( blue guard in tyre) is the one that is very hard to get on and off. The Marathon Green Guard I believe is not so hard but still a good tyre re. punctures. Etc. I think she would find the marathon Plus too difficult to repair she is taking all this welcome information...

Re: Cycling Books

Just finished reading this book that I happened to find in the library: Einstein and the Art of Mindful Cycling. By Ben Irvine. First Published in hardback 2012 and now the paperback in 2018. I found it a very good read with a lot of the authors views we can associate with.

Re: Shimano or Sram

Thank you for everyone's feed back on this, some very good comments, I have been looking at:

www.sheldonbrown.com/gear-calc.html

This is very good for comparing gear ratios and makes it very easy. She is still considering the options out there.

Thanks.
