Re: How was your commute today

Today's commute was to the vet hospital. Once again it was very windy, but a tail wind on the way there. I took the main road to make the journey as short as possible. With the trailer in tow I tried to remember to avoid hitting the bumps in the road too hard, lest the cargo got upset. The return jo...

Re: How was your commute today

Rode through the back streets for my shopping this morning. This choice had the advantage of keeping me out of the wind, which I barely noticed whilst riding. A second positive was the general lack of traffic about. Thankfully I can barely remember the stench of exhaust pollution these days.

Re: Melbourne lockdown

The time limit for exercise will be extended to four hours, not three as I mentioned earlier.

Re: Melbourne lockdown

I was all psyched up to be out and about on Friday, but then the news website changed their article to reflect the correct day. Didn't stop the locals having a 10+ person meet up in the local park this arvo. Perhaps a wet week will limit the spread with a bit of luck.

I find it disconcerting, having ridden along that road many times and not even thought of it being particularly dangerous.

Re: Melbourne lockdown

Looks like we may have our 5 km radius limit extended out to 10 km and time extended to three hours from midnight tonight (today being Thursday 16/9/21). Skate parks may reopen if that is your scene, although it looked like they already were from what I have observed in Elsternwick.

Is that smoke in the distance in the Hanlan St photo, looking south, Frosty? I went for a quick spin to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather, first stop being the Elsternwick Nature Reserve. https://i.imgur.com/5xrGspE.jpg From the other end of the works area: https://i.imgur.com/nuGIpnk.j...

Re: How was your commute today

Hopefully rain stops for the morning commute tomorrow. I can’t be bothered getting soaked. Not the best way to start the week, especially in the cold mornings. Just a walk for me today. I left the house in fine, sunny weather and made it back home under the same blue skies. After a few minutes of u...

Re: How was your commute today

Similar to my last post here, I was greeted by a ferocious northerly headwind on my way to the shops. The ride back was much easier, despite being mostly uphill and carrying the extra weight of the shopping. The warmer temperatures make riding much more pleasant after the bitter coldness of the wint...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Great to see some of the wildlife in you local area Frosty. Today I rode the singlespeed mtb to the Elsternwick golf course, currently undergoing conversion into a nature reserve. More than half the park is now fenced off for significant earthworks installing new water features. An illegal gathering...

Re: How was your commute today

A strong northerly wind made for a effortful ride out to the shops and an easy ride back. Very quiet on the roads today, although I admit I have probably forgotten what normal peak hour looks like.
