Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Invigorating was how I experienced my recreational ride today. I headed out in the cool of the morning for a few laps around Albert Park Lake. Trying to take the corners on the GP circuit as fast as I could was a fun challenge and I was pleasantly surprised at how well my legs had recovered from Tue...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Fantastic. I am glad the wind has dropped off a bit, which gave me a chance to ride a loop from Caulfield East on the Djerring trail, onto the Eastlink trail and followed by the Peninsula Link trail to Moorooduc. I returned up the Peninsula trail to the Baxter trail where I turned onto the Baxter tr...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

@Claude Cat - The quiet paths are in stark contrast to the roads over last few days. They have been choc-a-bloc with cars lately. I was on the Mornington Freeway during the week to see the outbound lanes in the afternoon become carpark which banked back onto Springvale Road. I was hoping to go for a...

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

Today's recreational ride was very refreshing, thank you for asking. I started from East Malvern Station and took the Gardiner's Creek Trail towards Laburnum station. From the station I followed the path along the railway line until I reached the Eastlink trail where I turned off to ride back toward...

Re: Coffee @home

After three years of living back in Melbourne, I have finally managed to get hold of the good stuff.
No mucking about with the marketing - for caffeine hit only.

Re: How was your recreational ride today?

I don't think you have too much to worry about Canuck. From my own experience, and I have read other people making the same claim, regaining fitness is quicker and easier than obtaining it in the first place. Another ride or two and you will probably be back up to speed. Now that I only do long ride...

Re: How was your commute today

I ventured out early this morning for a shopping run to avoid the traffic. It was the first time I have towed my trailer so I wanted to become familiar with it in easy conditions. Apart from one of the quick releases coming undone on a trailer wheel, it was smooth sailing. Sharp corners are not a pr...

Re: Ride2Work Day

I didn't even notice it was on until several days after the event this year. Will BN create some innovative new rides for next year, appropriate for our viral lifestyles? I, for one, can't wait to see what they come up with.

Re: How was your commute today

It was fun winding my way through the back streets this morning. Dry roads means more confidence leaning it over in the corners. Pretty chilly though - I even had a mild case of ice cream headache by the time I got to the shops.

Re: How was your commute today

Not sure about the hate article, but in the afternoon after the morning I read the Mike Hall case review article I was hit from behind by by a minibus. No damage to me or the bike thankfully. When I suggested to the person in the front seat they learn how to drive (with a few extra ornamental words ...
