Re: Great Victorian Bike Ride 2019

I started this thread because Mike.Ayling complained in the "Why are the Forums slowing down?" thread that nobody had started a thread on GVBR 2019. Mike.Ayling is now complaining in this new thread that the GVBR is (a list of complaints that make it no good). Enjoy your day Mike.Ayling. G...

Re: Meat & 3 Veg

Atom Ant has discovered the CSIRO low carb diet, and has time to prepare some of the recipes from the (2nd) book.
We are having yum meals - lots of greens, increased use of herbs and spices, little use of sauces.
Best meal this week was salmon encrusted with nuts and herbs.

Re: RIP - UJ1

Very sad news. :( I bought my first ever (and still current) roadbike secondhand from Justin when he treated himself to a retirement upgrade bike made to his specifications. One day, while riding along Beach Rd, I heard a comment of "nice bike", quickly followed by "heh, that's MY bik...

Re: Velodrome riding

A fast-ish time by a talented teenager 6 years ago - I expect the surface of the velodrome might have been better back then.

Doesn't look to be a safe surface for training/racing by the look of it. :(

OR something like this popular pump track which takes up little space for maximum fun: http://www.theweeklyadvertiser.com.au/2018/07/04/horshams-apex-island-pump-track-drawing-big-numbers/ It is possible I introduced some small children to some inappropriate language when I took a folding bike aroun...

Re: Velodrome riding

I'm a member of a cycling club. I train and race regularly on a velodrome. If a velodrome isnt in good condition, its not worth having as a veldodrome. The local cycling community would be better served by other cycling infrastructure. eg cycle path or shared path OR an off road area that encourages...

Re: Shopping for GVBR 2018

Hi, I registered again for the 2018 GVBR and paid my deposit. I see that the full amount will be deducted on the 1st September. When will the store be open to purchase extras like stand-up tents etc? Bicycle Network don't monitor these forums so you wont get an answer to your question here. Contact...

Re: How was your commute today

I bought a pair of Velotoze shoe covers - the little half covers made of rubber which just fit over the front of the shoe. I don't clip in on any of my bikes, my aim is to be able to ride in "dress" boots without worrying about the boots or slipping around with the leather soles. I tried ...
