Re: How was your commute today

I looked at the map of counters last week and was very surprised at the lack of counting spots on my commute.
I only saw one set of counters in Fitzroy Nth

Re: How was your commute today

Very humid this morning. I've noticed the paths have been very for the last couple of weeks, particularly on the way home. On Newquay Promenade in Docklands, there have been (I'm guessing) council officers in hi-vis vests at either end of the promenade. It looks like they're observing and counting ...

Re: How was your commute today

It was just about the perfect north easterly tailwind for me this morning. I could feel it helping me along, so I took advantage of it and pushed myself more than usual. End result, my quickest morning commute by a minute and a half. It was a lot of fun zinging along with the wind behind me. The re...

Re: Found Garmin

Did you find the owner?

If you download some of the older files to Strava and then look at "flyby" you should be able to ID the Strava user.

Re: How was your commute today

Had to go around four trees that had fallen across the path last night on my extended commute, three on the Merri and one on the Darebin Nth of the Ring road. This morning there was another on the Darebin, Sth of the Ringroad.

Re: How was your commute today

I got soaked on my way home on Friday night. I didn't notice any hail, but the rain was certainly heavy. Splendid conditions this morning though, lots of other riders on the paths. There's a bit of an annoying diversion though at the Miller St tram depot on St Georges Rd, while they're doing some t...

Rectangular pothole on the Corner of Exhibition and Londsdale. At least one inch deep, and will injure somebody or give somebody a pinch flat. Have reported it to Melbourne Council. I have a photo but not sure ho to post https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipPoC5ff1XtapMg56CBbDrIXJqZIOmJW8m06Z4c it ...

Re: How was your commute today

To add to my woes my AYUP lights are very anemic at the moment...sadly it may be the end of a era for the AYUPS :| I recently went to a Gloworm CX which is an NZ company. Very good light. Not as snazzy as the ayups, but were about 1/2 the price and use off the shelf Li Ion batteries. Thanks. These ...

Re: How was your commute today

Major Jinx factor yesterday. In the morning I was thinking zero commuting flats this year. Took the long way home via Merri, which currently has a detour in place due to works. Very cold and wet. Got all the way to Dalton road, coming off the traffic, Island heard the dreaded sound of the rim hittin...

Note that the newest addition to bridges on the Darebin has been completed. There is now a bridge meaning it's no longer required to ride down Rathcown Rd

Re: How was your commute today

I have also spent some time this year getting a couple of my older bikes back on the road. A few days ago I decided to ride a few of them and rode some short laps around my area on six different bikes. In reality I normally only ride a couple. Fixie for Commutes. Roady on the weekend. Dually on the ...

Re: How was your commute today

Merri Creek Trail is blocked in Thornbury for some works (as of Friday) . Detour was pretty vague.

This morning I'm glad I had my Spidey senses, because I would have T-Boned an oblivious Taxi Driver who used the St Georges crossover without looking.
